Mission Statement, Theme and Objectives
To provide the very best possible facility for the National Home and Headquarters of
the U. S. Mormon Battalion
To recognize the substantial contribution of the original Battalion Men and Women in
their faithful obedience to a prophet of God and at the same time, obedience to the United
States of America and for their contributions to the development of the Southwestern
United States, and
To fulfill the promise, blessing and prophecy of President Brigham Young that "The
Mormon Battalion will be held in honorable remembrance to the latest generation; and I
will prophesy that the children of those who have been in the army, in defense of their
country, will grow up and bless their fathers for what they did at that time. And men and
nations will rise up and bless the men who went in that Battalion."
To build a new Home and Headquarters, or purchase and remodel an existing structure, to
accommodate the functions needed to operate an international organization, in a location
easily accessible for members and visitors from all over the world, where they can be
taught the Mormon Battalion story of faith, obedience to a prophet and the U. S.
government, and to help spread the message of the restored gospel.
