Summer is approaching and our calendar is filling up fast. The Days of 47 Parade and
the Sunrise Service in the Tabernacle are two of the special events we are planning for.
The Companies have received so many requests for parade participation that they can't
fulfill them. The Battalion is invited to participate in the celebration at Council Bluffs
on July 12-13. This event will celebrate the "Swearing-in" of the Battalion.
Anyone interested in going? A new monument, dedicated to the sick detachments, will be
erected in Denver--more details will follow as we receive them. I especially wish to
compliment the companies which have recruited many new members. "A" and
"B" companies each have several new couples. The Centennial Parade had 115
participants, the main reason for this growth. Kane Co. held its own Centennial Ball and
Dinner with great success. Co. "B" San Diego had 315 riders on their Bike Ride
and the Old Town Parade for Battalion Day was outstanding. Co. "D" also has a
full complement of parades lined up. Great Job, all of you! This is going to be a GREAT
YEAR!
