The National Staff and Ladies Auxiliary express appreciation to each of you who attended Battalion Day or helped in any way to make it a success. Col. Madsen expressed it for all of us when he said, This has been the most exciting, productive year we have experienced in my years in the Battalion. We have received more favorable publicity, and gained more new members, than in all the previous years of my administration." Plaques were awarded to retiring officers: Col. Madsen, Col. Dalton, and Maj. Reed Anderson (finance officer for the past 14 years!) for their dedicated service. Pres. Shirley Maynes was commended for her leadership and organizational ability, especially in organizing the events for Battalion Day. In her remarks she praised her staff for their devotion and loyalty. We are delighted that she will continue as Auxiliary President. Col. Madsen and Pres. Maynes presented Distinguished Service awards to several members of their staffs for exemplary service this past year.
