Springtime! Bringing forth new life--and new approaches to achieving new goals. The
Ladies Auxiliary shares equally with the men of the Battalion in meeting the challenges of
today's goals. One of our goals that has not changed is the memorialization of the graves
of Battalion men and women, which continues to take precedence. This month we will assist
in the memorializations of some twenty graves in Southern Utah, May 16-18. Among them are
the graves of two women: Susan S. Adams (wife of Orson) in the Leeds cemetery, and Melissa
Kelly (Covington) in the Washington cemetery.
Battalion Day approaches--12 July. It will be held at Brighton this year. Plan on being
with us in the "cool of the mountains" for food, entertainment, relaxation, and
companionship. You will receive a flyer with all the exciting, surprising details, later.

REMINDER--In order to get The Valiant out on time, we need your cooperation. Material
for the July issue, for example, must be sent to Ltc. Bascom by June 15 in order for
Sharlene McFarland to have the necessary required time to compose it.
