I am pleased that we are going to memorialize several women's graves this year. For
those unfamiliar with the procedure, I submit this brief outline: Each company should have
an Auxiliary Memorialization officer who:
(1) is to be notified when a grave is to be marked;
(2) reviews the program with the family representative;
(3) discusses the price of the marker ($35.--or $40. if cemented to a plug);
(4) ascertains if there is a headstone (a must);
(5) determines who makes the arrangements with the cemetery (family or her?);
(6) puts announcements in the local newspapers;
(7) receives a copy of the deceased's biography for the Auxiliary;
(8) notifies the Battalion of date, place, and time. Plaques and forms can be secured from
