COMMANDER'S COMMENTS --col. Clayton Fairbourn

In January, members of the Battalion, with my wife and I, participated in the 151 -year commemorative events of the Battalion in San Diego. We were happy to see our new leadership alert, vigorous, and industrious-- the same characteristics that we must display as we portray the bravery, fearlessness, and confidence of the Battalion. It was inspiring to hear that a goal was set to re-staff that area with 500 good men. We can certainly take this challenge in our other areas also. Elder Robert E. Wells remarked that the original Battalion was the first service club in America, their many community projects being greatly appreciated by the local citizenry. We can emulate this in all our communities today. We need to be continually involved in increasing our membership and being a stronger force for good in our communities.
