COMMANDERS COMMENTS--Col. Clayton Fairbourn
This year I planted a garden. I disced the soil with my
tractor to prepare it. My neighbor gave me the sweet corn seed "Phenomenon" to
plant. During the season, I fertilized it twice, to ensure vigorous growth and full ears.
A friend, Jerry, watered it just at the right times. My nephew, David, tilled it for me;
then, as a family, we hoed the weeds missed by the tiller. Our corn crop lived up to its
name--it was "phenomenal." Working together, we all enjoyed the effort--and
the corn. I see many of the same principles at work in our Battalion: We need to work
together more, and each apply his abilities and talents at the right time and way to
ensure a successful, greater harvest. Our results will bless both the individual and the
Battalion.
